  • Describe your research.

I work on trying to find treatments for both Leishmaniasis and Hepatitis B infection by targeting the patient’s infected cells rather than the infection itself. These infections stop the infected cells from dying so that they can replicate and spread to other cells. These treatments aim to help the infected cell die before the infection can spread.

  • Do you have a mentor or role model?

Yes!

  • How did you find your mentor?

The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute organises a mentoring program between Post Docs and PhD students. During this program last year, I found my mentor. This year I am helping to organise the program.

  • How does your mentor empower you?

We are interested in similar things such as women in STEM and therefore she empowers me by suggesting events and programs in these areas for me to get involved in.
