Dr Lynette Beattie

My work focuses on understanding how the immune system responds to infection, particularly to infection with parasites. My current research projects are focussed on T cell immunity to malaria, and the role of specialised T cell subsets in protecting against infection in the context of vaccination.

I joined a WiSPP working group after being a participant in the WiSPP grant mentoring program, which helped me to build a network of peers and mentors. I hope to facilitate other people in having a similarly positive experience with the aim of them achieving their own career goals.
