In response to the pandemic and the challenges faced by our community, we asked Desiree Dickerson to share with us some Strategies for maintaining well-being during COVID times.

Following a huge demand for this workshop, we asked Desiree to design a three-part workshop series focusing on Resilience and Well-Being in Research.

Here’s what some participants thought:

It was great to talk about mental health, particularly how we are all feeling during COVID-19 and in academia. It helped to normalise these feelings and to recognise that we are not alone. It was great to hear from an expert that could provide us with helpful tools we could implement in our day-today life. It was great to have the handouts so that we can refer back to these tools.

Desiree spoke my language. Her framing made once impossible behavioural change achievable. I’ve incorporated many microchanges to my day and as a result I have more energy + my productivity has improved.

Desiree was excellent at providing achievable ways we could make a difference to our way of thinking in our everyday life.
